Pain, a constant companion,
A shadow that never leaves,
It lingers in the bones, the muscles,
Reminds me what I can’t achieve.
I try to push through pain,
To live my life, to feel desire,
But frustration can’t be tamed
As the body fades and tires.
I long for relief from the pain,
For a moment of peace and rest,
But it’s hard to believe there won’t be rain
As I drown in a storm, trying to catch a breath.
But deep within lies strength and will,
That cannot be cut by pain or knife,
It is strong enough to climb that hill,
I am strong enough to live this life.
So I will face the pain with grace,
And hope to leave a path to trace,
For though it may be hard to bear ,
I know that we are stronger than despair.
